Books are always a good gift. If they're not a big reader, try something humorous or a coffee-table type book.
Or, go to your local Things Remembered (in most malls) and pick something out to be engraved (usually done same day).
A nice scarf and gloves make a good gift for someone you're either not very close to or really have no idea what they'd like.
Inexpensive women's gifts: go to a dollar store or Wal Mart, and buy a bunch of trial sizes around a theme (such as a pedicure), put them in a pretty basket and wrap with ribbon.

Well that depends on your budget. If you want a decent priced gift try to figure what they like and buy a poster for them (shopfor surplus on ebay is a really good store). Or you could make them a basket with favorite foods or give them store coupons. Good luck!

You can find unique gifts on Yahoo! Shopping’s Holiday Gift Center: http://shopping.yahoo.com/b:Holiday%20Gifts%20%26%20Gift%20Ideas:784712816
There's an area for unique gifts you'll see on GIFT-OL-O-GY that is broken down for men, teens, girls, kids, etc.
Hope this helps!
