The Milan (a.k.a. Ford Fusion) is an excellent choice!
Not just good looks.....High quality & great handeling. It is rated very highly for safety & reliability too.
It is also available in a wide variety of trim levels & powertrains including AWD.
The Ford Fusion is up for "North American Car of the Year" (finalist...winner to be named in January)

Considering if you go back as far as the Ford Tempo and Mercury Topaz , the Mercury Milan can't be all that bad of a deal. Just a Name change to keep the Ford Mid Size car alive.
