Normally my breasts hurt for about 2 days before my period and when it starts it goes away. I did have unprotected sex all month long and on no birth control. We want a child!

From personal experience, I can tell you when I got pregnant, my breasts hurt before I should've gotten my period. Maybe you're pregnant?

Mine have been hurting, too lately and they normally thicken and get bigger right before my period. This time it was different and they were just sore and the same size for the past week and a half. Today, my period came. So, it could be your period coming. Or pregnancy. You might also check them to search for any lumps. I've heard that breast pain is also a sign of breast cancer, although it's probably unlikely for you. You might want to check just in case.

My boobs do the same thing, and it's how I know my period will be coming in a week or two... i'm on a low-hormonal birth control, and i've tried other things, but it's one PMS symptom I can't get rid of. On top of the soreness, my boobs get a whole cup size bigger. If you haven't ever had this, maybe you are pregnant, but even if you aren't it wouldn't hurt to ask the doc, to see if there's anything they can give you... like birth control if you aren't already on it, or maybe they could change yours.

Are you a coffee drinker??? Try cutting down on caffeine it really helps with mine. I forget the name of the problem I have but a couple of weeks before my period I get painful full breasts as well and the doctor said caffeine contributes to it.
Also breasts being full and painful can be a sign of pregnancy. Of course you would have other symptoms as well.

It sounds like a horomonal change due to the "bowling ball" feeling. Pregnancy can cause breast pain as well as your cycle.
