I have a couple of issues that I feel as though should be addressed by the government as well as by the Mayor of DC. Some of them include the fact that so much tax is taken out of my check and when it comes time to file at the end of the year I never get back what was taken away. Also the rent in Washington DC is very high. I asked my mom why was this so, she said because there is no rent stipend. How do I go about with letting the right people know that I have an issue? I'm confused. I voted yesterday because I want to see changes made but I'm not sure who to turn to.

Communicate your concerns to those who represent you in the CITY of Washington, DC. They're the only ones who might listen and who might be able to do something for you.

The tax rate is what it is. I hope you voted republican then, because democrats are notorious for raising taxes! Rents in DC are expensive becuase they can charge that much and people pay it. Go to NYC, they are even more expensive there. If you can't afford the rent then move. If you go to the mayors office you will get laughed right out of the place by bringing these things up. The tax rate is set and voted on, the rents are set by the landlords.

Your issues are not such that would interest buerocrats like the government or mayor. They like high taxes because they are not accountable--most votes today are bought and paid for, so they do not care.

The best way to get even with the government is to make lot of money and do tax planning so you pay minimum tax.

This is what Bush wants and that's why I love him
