Well here is the oddity that is under-reported, there are two independents in the Senate, and one is Big Joe Lieberman. That is going to make this interesting. If there is a 50-50 split the Senate is still in the hands of the GOP however since Cheney is the President of the Senate. Still, with the two independents, it will make life interesting.

Any ties in voting are broken by the President of the Senate who is the Vice President of the US.

If it's a split Senate, it's a split Senate. The VP decides all tie votes.
