I also changed the spark plugs and high tension wires already. it still jerks. My mechanic says it's the clutch/lining/ball bearing needs replacement. I disagree cuz it does not slide when I am running. Car jerks often. Could you pls. advice me what could be wrong with it. The car has manual transmission and has 140k Mileage on it.

vehicle jerk can occur by clutch disc is not align flat with the pressure plate. in order to verify,transmission must be remove.

I had a similar problem with a car I've troubleshot before, if the car does it all the time while cruising and not just during shifting or starting out from a light, then buy a maintenance manual and look for the crank shaft position censer and/or the cam shaft position sensor, these units tend to get oil leaks and shorts the censer. This has caused the jerking in the car I've worked on.

Honda element!! hehe No, heavily, between the two i might bypass with the Toyota, the couple of persons I knew with Jeeps have been continually having issues. Toyotas are generally very reliable.

you will need to provide more info,in order to get a good answer.ie does it act up when cold,hot,rainy day,high speed low speed,under load or at cruising or idle.
