Ok, i just want to check if Im right

The number of dollars per month it cost you to own a car is function of the number of kilometers per month you drive it. Based on info. in an issue of Time magazin. the cost varies linearly with the distance, and is $366 per month for 300 km per month, and $510 per month for 1500km per month.
a. Write the particular equation expressing cost in terms of distance.

My answer: driven= -55/2 c+9540

D=driven
C= cost

If im wrong would someone please tell me why.

This would be the equation to find the base cost.

[(c1-x)/m1] = [(c2-x)/m2]

[(366-x)/300] = [(510-x)/1500]
1500(366-x) = 300(510-x)
549000-1500x = 153000 - 300x
396000 = 1200x
x= 330

FORMULA
x + my = c
x = from above formula
m = mileage
y = is what my are solving for
c = cost

This would be the equation to find the "mileage" cost.
330 + 300y = 366
300y = 0.12 per kilometer

Solve for other to check
330 + 1500(0.12) =? 510
330 + 180 =? 510
510 = 510 CHECK

So your a. would be 330+300y=366 and 330+1500y=510
