Is this significant today what does it mean

This seems to be a strange event especially after an election and ancients seem to look at Wednesday as the day of Mercury

it means that the mercurys orbit as seen from the earth is currently crossing the path of the sun.

think of it as just another eclipse. only mercury is too small and too far away to block much of the light from the sun

there is no signigicance. it happens at regualr intervals. it is just a neat thing to see.

It's simply a form of an eclipse. It is proof that the earth ins't the center of the solar system. It may have some astrological manings, but I'm not sure of them.
