No you cant. You can go to www.babycenter.com and they have some answers about that. Your babys temperature is always slightly higher than your own, so the more you raise your temp , the higher the babys goes. Same reason you cant take hot baths or sit in a Hot Tub.

There is nothing wrong with tanning while pregnant. I dont use the tanning beds b/c they are uncomfortable. I just got back from vacation and i have a nice tan. my doc said it's okay to be in the sun as long as you use sun screen and are careful not to over heat/burn. if you just use the tanning bed for like 10-15 minutes you're not going to get that hot. you would have to raise your temp over 100 degrees to do any harm, and the salons will not even let you tan if the rooms are over 100 degrees. it depends on the womans preference. of course docs arent' going to want you to tan--they discourage it when youre NOT pregnant.

By taking a warm bath, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, or tanning bed you are increasing your internal body temperature above the safe 37c. This greatly increases the chance of miscarriage.
I would say if you want to be safe wait until you are 12 weeks pregnant at least. I don't believe there is anything proven to harm the baby about tanning beds its purely the risk of miscarriage.
Definetly speak to your GP about it anyway he may be able to recommend something different for your eczema or give you the go ahead.

Ok for one, You can go in hot tubs when you are pregnant, but you have to turn down the temp to 98 degrees and drink cold fluids while you are in there. As for tanning beds, you cant do that because you have no way of keeping the core temperature of your body down while you are in there.
But, its possible I am wrong about the tanning bed thing so I would call your doctors office or a midwife, or a health line or something they can assist you farther.

You can but you must be very careful about your core body temperature. Raising your core body temperature places stress on both you and the baby. In addition, raising your body temperature has been linked to birth defects. You must also be careful to remain hydrated when hot.
Since you are not pregnant already I would recommend you take your temperature before and after a few sessions to see how it effects you. Then when you are pregnant discuss it with your care provider.
However, would a sunlamp work the same way? You may need to use it more often but it would be more safe during pregnancy. In addition the extra vitamin D has been linked to healthier moms and babies and can help improve your mood. You would need the kind of lamp they use to treat SAD, they are relatively expensive but IMO worth the price.
Of course pregnancy does weird things so let's hope it cures your eczema.
FYI you can take hot baths, as hot as usual so long as you stay hydrated and only stay in as long as your are comfortable. Your body is pretty good at telling you when enough is enough.

personally, I did go tanning till I was 3 months pregnant( I have bad skin and am fair so I look bad if I am not a little tan ) I asked my doctor ( actually 2 doctors ) and they said it doesnot hurt the baby. If the pregnancy is normal!!! My little girl is 10 months and healthy ( and a little tan...lol) It is up to you and your doctor.. If you do only go maybe once a week.. until you get bigger.. then you might want to cut it out because you might can not fit.

I went tanning before I was pregnant and it really helped with my skin. I stopped going when I decided to start trying for a baby and I am now 22 weeks and have horrible acne and wash my face at least twice a day but it doesn't help. It sucks but I just deal with it-my baby is well worth it.

I would ask your doctor... if it is possible find a place that can tone down the heat of the lamps and don't stay in for as long (even if that means you have to go more often) After your belly gets bigger you may just have to suffer. Keep in mind, if you are hot your baby is even hotter, plus a hot light shining down on baby can't be a good thing. (and it will ruin the skin on your stomach and make any strech marks more noticable) Talk to your doctor, it may be safe for the first few months, but after that I would refrain....

Go to your doctor and ask for advice ,because this is a medical question and only your doctor can tell you what is best. I personally would advise you not to go tanning because it is bad for your baby.

I don't think you should go in a tanning bedat all, especially while you are pregnant. 1) it makes you get more stretch marks, 2) it is too hot in there for your baby, and you don't want your child to overheat.
