Repairs and replacements are so simple nowadays that the companies that sell warranties send the replacement parts for the customer to fit themselves!
When I made a claim after my DVD player/recorder in the PC imploded the insurance company asked me if I would be prepared to fit the part myself. I agreed and the new DVD and bits arrived by carrier next day (and I live in Ireland). Before lunchtime I had it up and running and dispatched the old one (picked up by the same carrier next day) back to their depot. I thought the system was good and efficient. So the answer to your question is this: find replacement parts and do the work yourself - to hell with warranties.

Are you in the UK?? I would have expected any warranty to fully cover parts and labour for at least 1 year, and has that not now become 2 years under EU legislation??
