I heared that they were going to try to get Bush impeached. Is there any truth to this new rumor? And how likely is it to happen?

No, its unlikely to happen, unfortunately. It was mostly a politcal tactic to get conservatives out and voting. There was a move a while ago, but Pelosi recently said that the Democratic House would try to reach across party lines. Given that statement, and the fact that a move to impeachment would probably hurt the democrats politically, its unlikely, I think.

Booger: you do realize that the vice president is impeachable? A move to impeach Bush would likely impeach Cheney as well since he has had such an active role in Bush's policy. Even if Cheney did become President, liberals should look at that as a good thing. Cheney is not nearly so charismatic as Bush, and would be completely unable to pass a conservative agenda. Bush's strength is in his role as cheerleader. Cheney's strength is in his role behind the scenes. Impeaching only Bush and making Cheney president would actually be desriable from a liberal perspective, I think.

I think it's very unlikely. But with the democrats coming in to power in the congress next year, there will be rumors like this floating around. I seriously doubt that it'll happen, as there isn't anything they could charge him with. And that's especially so since G. W. Bush has only 2 more years left in office any way. The democrats would spend at least 6 months building support for the case, 6 months to prosecute it, and then they'd have Dick Cheney as president. It's not worth it even if they did have a case.

Mostly it's the die-hards who say, "They did it to our guy Clinton, so we're gonna stick it to their guy Bush!"

Personally I'd love to see Bush & Cheney removed from office in shame by impeachment. The only thing better would be to have both of those individuals convicted of war crimes and spend the rest of their days in hard labor at the Federal Penetentiary in Leavenwoth, Kansas.

Unfortunately, the Democrats don't have the time to try these reprobates. We only have two years to show the American people and the world that we are capable of cleaning up their mess.

They are very likely going to serve papers for impeachment - unfortunately.

Impeachment is QUITE different from removing from office. It is simply "proving" a lgeal violation.

It is a waste of time and resources...focus on fixing what Georgie screwed up. I think the public pretty much KNOWS he a screw up. Why waste your time and money getting it written in an official document?

I heard that the dems want committees to investigate things like the validity behind the reasons for going to war ... amongst other things that don't come to mind at this time. I also have heard that the current incarnation of Dems has many members that are more conservative then we would expect so the older leadership may have trouble doing what they want.

Clinton's impeachment replaced right into a gross misuse of authorities money to capture him in a lie that did not have any pertaining to the State of our us of a. Bush lied right away formerly Congress putting forward he "knew" there have been guns of mass destruction in Iraq. He hasn't ever been held to account for that lie. Please observe the conceited tone of the responses from so-said as Conservatives in this Y!A string- extremely "rukidding".

No! He hasn't done anything, so they have no ground on which to stand when it comes to impeachment.
