www.toast.net then click the speed test on the right about 1/2 way down the page or you could get network magic 4 and it has an internet and network speed test. toast.net is recommended by sbc

It really is going to depend on the connection speed you get. I have a 12 Mb dsl connection which is amazingly fast, but cable can do the same thing. The only problem is that Comcast has a habit of slowing down peoples connections.

cable is way faster for downloading then DSL because it has a way bigger bandwidth... and yes there is way faster connections then cable and DSL.. you have DS3 which can reach speeds of up to 45 Mbps, then you have OC-3 which is capable of speeds up to 100 to 300 Mbps then you have OC-12 This reliable, high-speed service enables high-volume users to connect directly to a global network and take advantage of bandwidth up to 622 Mbps...you can also get high-speed greater than OC-12

it depends on your provider, if you have DSL provided by Bellsouth as i do the it depends on how far the remote terminal is, if you telephone lines are underground that might be a probem since water can leak to them and a problem if harder to see( on the street i mean not your house) it also depends on what kind of speed you are paying for, if you are paying for lite it will be slower, ultra is faster and extreme is faster still. Lite= 1.5 mg, Ultra= 3.0mg, and xtreme= 6.0 mg do a spees test and check yours.
