The Northeast is pretty safe... all we get is snowstorms which aren't usually too hazardous except for traffic-related problems.

There is no completely safe place anywhere in the world. There is always some risk of a natural disaster anywhere you go. The only thing that changes from one place to another is the type of disaster your at risk for and the chance that it will occur. For example... The NE US doesn't get many tornadoes, and wildfires, but they are at a greater risk for a hurricane than the middle portion of the US. But the middle portion of the US is more susceptible to tornadoes and severe weather. Both areas run a good risk of a snow storm and blizzard conditions. The west coast has a higher risk of earthquakes, forest fires, and blizzards in the higher elevations, but a lower risk of tornadoes, hurricanes, and blizzards in the lower elevations. But if I had to pick one location, I would say Phoenix, AZ. Low risk of severe weather, no snow, no earthquakes, and no hurricanes. The worst thing they get there is dust storms (very few), some flooding (usually only lasts a few hours to overnight) and sunburn.

anwhere in the mountains. West VA gets snow but not really thing else. Tornadoes are very uncommon in the mountains, and if you are inland, then hurricanes are uncommom. Nowhere is safe when it comes to weather. Anything can happen anytime anywhere. But the place where natural disasters are uncommon would be anywhere in the mountains

Any place that is not subject to frequent natural disaster is usually either cold, (wet) and miserable or hot and miserable. Places with milder climates get all the natural disasters, frequent severe snowstorms and the like. Of course, this is a generalization and there are, of course, exception, but it seems to be a trend.

I live in New Hampshire as well, and the blizzards aren't so great. Look around Kentucky where you don't have any hurricanes, tornadoes, heavy snow fall or earthquakes. It's funny you bring up this question because someone recently brought it up with me and we figured that Louisville Kentucky would be the perfect place to live. heh

well, I live in Calgary Canada, and I would say this area of southern alberta. I would say a similar area in the U.S. like Idaho but there are a lot of Crazy people in that state. So as long as you dont count humans as a natural disaster you would be fine here. No fault lines for earth quakes and summer storms happen but severe weather is rare.
