How can one argue that there is any sanctity left in the institution of marriage when we see people marrying and divorcing within months, people marrying on tv reality shows, cheating on wives and husbands, spousal abuse, etc. The divorce rate is so high, and spouses cheat so often, it's obvious that heterosexual people don't take marriage seriously enough to claim that it's sanctified.

It amazes me why this is such a hot topic. As an ordained minister in two churches, I say gay marriage should be legal. What is wrong with love? Nothing, that's what. What is funny is that the people who are against it use the bible out of context (I studied it kids, I know what I'm talking about, OK), or they just don't know any gay people. They still think it's a mental illness or something. (The man and ape comment and the "they are just a bunch of cheaters and perverts" is just ignorant). Seriously people, it's good for the economy, and hey, lots of straight people aren't getting married. What's up with that. Choose your battles a little better kids, and read a book.

The handiest motive govt sanctions of Marriage (a devout inspiration) exists in any respect is since it was once deemed that having "households" was once an over all advantage to society as a consequence humans getting married and having kids was once promoted and is influenced by way of the federal government. Changing this inspiration to incorporate gays ordinarilly negates the motive that governments sanctioned marriage for within the first position. I nonetheless haven't any thought why two humans that don't seem to be having children could desire to be married , equal intercourse or or else. And do not inform me Love or Legal rights , each those matters have Nothing to do with govt sanctioned marriages. One does no longer ought to be married for both

I really don't get it! Why do couples like my wife and I have to suffer because straight people can't get it together? I guess they figure that there aren't as many of us as there are of them, and it's easier to pick on the same-sex couples first. I bet some of them would love to go after things like no-fault divorce next.

... and ironicly, when celebrities marry and divorce in 24 hours, no one says that desanctified marrriage. But gay couples who have been together 20+ years are a "threat?" puh-leez.

You make the best point i ever seen about this issue, but it`s not what gay`s are doing together, it`s the fact that tax dollars will be spent on going thru with it and unfortunetly most people prefer it to be hetrol sexual.

marriage is not a right. Marriage is a benefit that not every one is allowed to enjoy. same as I am not able to apply for schooling through the NAACP.
