AA definately! I had an old 1972 Volkwagen Camper and 1984 mini, so have experienced breaking down alot especially on the motorway. AA were always there on time and they are very nice men after all very very very nice men. When I was with the RAC I watched 8 AA vehicles go by and I swore then I am changing. When I got breakdown cover through my insurers they came to pick me up, and they were already late, and as he rung to check where I was on the motorway I watched him get on to it the motorway going the wrong way, so had to wait another hour till they got of the next junction to return.
So I will always be with the AA, and infact I am covered under warrenty on my new car for breakdown cover, but I still joined the AA cause they have never let me down and I trust them!
Who ever you go with hopefully you will not have to use them too soon.

I've only used RAC and they were excellent. I dont think they'll be much difference. I have workd for both RAC and AA and AA was far better to work for but whether that makes them a better breakdown service i dont know!

Of the big two you mention, the RAC. However, as a member, I must recommend Britannia Rescue.

RAC by far. They are more efficient I found from experience. Also I find their package deals much better value for money.
