Im writing a book with fortune telling in it. please tell me every thing you can about fortune telling. please!!

Since you're the one writing the book, why not do some research online? That way, you'll get a broad perspective and can use what you want to. You need to do the research if you want it to be accurate.

There are many different was to tell someone's fortune.
Here's a list of the most common ways:
Tarot Cards
Runes
Tea Leafs
Scrying
Feng Shui
You can also use:
Dominos
Regular Playing cards
Check into some of those. There's also others. But, of course, that depends on the reader's abilities.
The basics of it, the seeker will ask someone a question. Then the 'fortune teller' gives the answer the best s/he can, using the aforementioned tools. ^^

at the moment they do the reading. It DOES NOT dictate
what will happen. We can make conscious choices that will
effect the outcome.
Like if we are heading down a highway, and the bridge is out
up ahead. If we keep going that way, we will crash. But if we take
