it's better to give your family a half of a day then to endure the consequences for the rest of the year.

Because your family is apparently thankful for having you around, as silly as that may sound!
Some families do the football & beer thing together. Maybe you could convince whomever is cooking to work around the game schedule. After all, there are only two games on, you'd think they could just serve dinner late, or something.

Thanksgiving is about family & being thankfull for what u have and don't have. Well I take it that ur thankfull for football and beer if I'm correct.
Here's a suggestion:
Spend a little time with ur mom and dad (FAMILY) and tell them thank u for bringing u into this earth so that u can enjoy BEER & FOOTBALL!!!!!

hahahahaha. you're right about the lions. pffft.
i'm good for the beer, i guess i'll tolerate the football if it means i can get out of family stuff, but i really want to keep the turkey. can i still have the food?
i'd better put on my thanksgiving pants.

What!!? And miss the turkey and dressing and all the other good stuff for football!! I dont think so.
Well i guess I should say that in my family we dont try to impress each other and we have a good time together so maybe that is why I like Thanksgiving.

You don't have to. Some of us enjoy the family part, especially when the football is Detroit.

Why ask us?
Ask the family, and tell them that you are not that keen on the family thing.......................
