You can use them to organize different nails and screws in your garage, just nail the cap to a 2X4 mounted in your garage and then you just have to screw the bottle on or off. they work great for storage!

I know it is hard to get these little glass jars anymore since many of the baby food companies are doing away with them. Here is a website with a bunch of ideas for craft items using the jars...

You can save them up along with the lids until you get enough to make a Christmas tree shape (like 1 for the trunk, then 4 for the bottom of the tree, working your way up to the tip), glue them together with hot glue, then punch a hole in each lid and thread thru a few lights. This can be tricky, as you have to work up and then circle back down again so that your wiring is where it can be plugged up inconspicuously. When you are finished you have a cute Christmas tree to display in your window! God bless!

you can melt wax and make them into candles.also people use the to store nuts and bolts in or small craft items attach the lids to a board then screw the jars on, then you can mount it and have items up and out of your way. also you can put hard candy in them and make a fabric cover for the lid to dress it up and give them as gifts.. good luck

I used mine to make snowglobes for my sister-in-law's third grade class for a holiday art project. I picked out tiny tree ornaments for the "scene" and used irridescent glitter for the snow. Then filled them with water. I've heard that glycerin is better, but I couldn't get it at the time. The kids loved it!

you could fill them with layers of different colored sand, or you could get some shells or cool rocks, some beach sand, and some fake greenery and make a little scene. or skip the sand and fill them with water and shells or rocks. you could also get some etching cream, available at hobby lobby or maybe other craft stores. make a stencil of something simple out of contact paper and etch the glass according to the instructions on the cream. that's pretty fun, i did it with wine glasses for my wedding and my sister-in-laws wedding.

GIFTS FOR THE CHILDREN
In a small ziploc bag or baby food container, mix:
1/4 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup sugar
sprinkle of red or green sugar crystals (for cake decorating)
OPTIONAL: You can cut a circle of cloth or felt a bit larger than the lid. Place over the lid and tie a ribbon around it to decorate. We actually used Kleenex cut in a circle and tied on with wool for the top of our lid and it turned out really nice.
(the amounts don't have to be exact)
If you use a baby food jar, you can layer the ingredients for a "sand art"
Reindeer Poem to go with:
Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home.
SEE THE UNIVERSE
MATERIALS NEEDED:
baby food jar.
water,
sequins, tinfoil, sparkles (you need at least one of these, but not all so if you don't have sequins or sparkles don't worry)
OPTIONAL: blue food colouring
OPTIONAL: black paint
OPTIONAL: stickers to decorate with
scissors and
glue.
INSTRUCTIONS:
OPTIONAL: paint the lid of the baby food jar black and/or decorate with stickers.
Put in some sparkles, some sequins (star shape, moon shape and circle shape all work great) and some small balled up pieces of tinfoil (cut 1 inch square pieces of tinfoil and let your child ball them up).
Fill the jar with water
OPTIONAL: Put a few drops of blue food colouring in the jar.
OPTIONAL: Put a few drops of oil in for a bit of a lava lamp effect
Put the lid on the jar TIGHTLY (ask dad to help!).
Let your child play with it ... shake it up to see the universe
BABY JAR PAPER WEIGHT
You can take table salt and add a few drops of food coloring to
make a cheap sand art project. Add different colors of salt to
baby food jar, insert a toothpick along sides to make patterns and
glued the lid on. The kids loved doing this and they all turned out really nice. They can be used as paperweights. ( A good mother/fathers/grandparents day gift)

My son made a cute tealight candle holder in school one year. They did a decoupage kind of thing with colored tissue paper and it looked like stained glass. A series of them would be very pretty.
