Looks now like it may be Clinton vs McCain in 2008. Powell could be on either ticket. Is either electable, and would Powell be an asset on either side?

I think McCain and Powell compliment each other nicely. Their messages were very similar, while Powell served the State Dept., and they were both combat veterans. Very thoughtful, and sensitive men, with the will to make unpopular decisions, so long as they believe it's the right thing to do. This would be the Republican ticket I would vote for.

McCain is so in to bipartisanship, that a McCain/Clinton ticket is more probable than either running with Powell. Powell says he's an R, and historically has no interest in running for office.

I doubt Powell will side with the Dems.

I like the McCain-Powell ticket. I've always had a lot of respect for both of these men as the voice of reason within our party and willing to work on issues in a bi-partisan manner.

Speaking of bi-partisan, I think Joe Lieberman may have helped his chances for a run at the White House! He stood up solid for his conservative principles and ran as an independant against his party's liberal candidate... and WON! Kudos to Joe for offering the Dems (and Repubs for that matter) another alternative than staying the course or full retreat and defeat!

Powell is a registered Republican, but he would be a tremendous asset. What about Barak-Powell?

Forget Powell, he's not running, he's had enough of Washington.
