Dissing Irish, French, Welsh. Lacking the bottle to diss the Scots. Understanding how to play cricket. Better still: playing it. Always voting Conservative because that's what we do, dear. Having Soccer as the national religion. Having sex as the national sport. Not being able to speak any foreign language. Being excluded by a Yorkshire accent. Heh! Heh! Can you imagine a British Yorkshireman.

Now! If you had asked what does Englishness mean?
Well! I just did. The question is on my list and the answers are just as strange as they are here.

I think it means being proud of your country and everything that goes with it. The Royal Family, Prime Minister the lot. I think it only seems to appy to English people. I'm not slagging of English people at all. It just seems that Irish, Scotish and Me Welsh seem to class themselves as not British it just seems as though when surveys are done about Britishness, London, Royal Family etc always seem to be on the agenda. I don't know maybe I'm talking rubish but, that's the way I see it!

Britishness is to have the qualities that make one seem British (but don't ask me what it means to be British)
