It was called The Upper Hand, and Honor Blackman was the mother of the lady of the house. it also featured Joe McGann as the male nanny/housekeeper.
Hope this helps

The English Version was called The Upper Hand, but it was an english version of the US show 'Who's the boss'. Hope that helps about the confusion with the other answer that was offered.

The upper hand
When Caroline Wheatley (Diane Weston) wants to hire a housekeeper, the last thing she expects is for a man to apply for the job.
The man in question is Charlie Burrows (Joe McGann). He gets the job and moves in, along with his daughter, Joanna (Kellie Bright).
Caroline lives with her son Tom (William Puttock), while her mother Laura West (Honor Blackman) lives out in the 'granny flat'.
This programme was a remake of the US sitcom, Who's The Boss?. It was distinguished from most other US-to-UK translations in becoming a long-running, successful show in its own right.

That was pretty unfortunate. I'm pretty sure that during the long hiatus the fans, family, and friends probably expected him to come out of it clean. And he lay there for two weeks, no one knowing where he was. I think rock needs less tragedies and more happiness. Songs about narcotics: "Not an Addict" - K's Choice, "Jane Says" - Jane's Addiction, "Scar Tissue" - Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Pass the Dutchie" - Musical Youth, "Because I Got High" - Afroman BA: "Down in a Hole" BA2: Not exactly a favorite, but I watched his "Live Through This" (a short-lived FUSE series) and it actually sort of touched me, so Nikki Sixx. BA3: I consider them hard rock because I don't enjoy metal, but I do like them. BA4: Well, they probably thought long and hard before they decided to regroup and maybe they think he would have wanted them to continue on with the same name and keep making music even after he'd passed on. I can't say whether it was "right" or not, but it was up to them.
