Investment creates capital. Capital requires labor. More investment means there is more demand for labor and thus rising wages.

Foreign investment is particularly insensitive to wages; foreign investors are so happy to hire people at lower wages compared to their home countries that they don't mind paying a substantial premium over the local wage level.
