Copying my answer to another question earlier today...
We are supposed to be on the same team. Whydo people support the abuse of our government system of checks and balances by suggesting the President veto everything? Why is America great? Probably because of that system of gov't we have which most people seem to want to become unilateral and have one party run everything. Republicans had control of the country, and nothing other than our offensive military action is better than when Dems had control of the presidency. If you are that anti-Democrat, maybe you should sit down and figure out if you are anti-American. Since they have very similar goals to the Repuclicans. We are all supposed to be on the same team.
Bush said that he will work with them to get things done. I think the country needs to always have at least 1 of the three in both parties. The country is best in that formation. Both Republicans and Democrats have bad habits and bad policies. That's where having that system of checks and balances is so important. Every law that will be passes will be Conservative-Democratic or Liberal-Republican. Those are the two best places to have your political views at anyway.
And this goes for all of you asking for an impeachment too. That's ridiculous. I don't agree with Bush's views on some things, but he had a GREAT initial response to Iraq and really has good intentions. I'm sick of all of this crap personally. Why do we hate our President in the same fashion that terrorsits do? This will tear our country apart (as it already has been).
Everyone please just get on the same page or acknowledge that the other party has at least some good ideas too.

You couldn't be more wrong on so many levels...
The Republican Party is owned by "Big Business" - Corporate America... Bought and paid for. They have no objective to take care of the American People, they only serve their masters, the Corporate Elite. The needs of the people conflict with the agenda of these money-grubbing corporate leeches - especially Big Oil - and so those elected to government positions in the Republican Party owe their allegiance to Corporate America, not to the people.
The Democratic Party is also courted by Big Business, as it only makes good business sense to buy both sides of the coin - but they also are willing to realize that the country is actually run by the folks who do the WORK here. While the Democrats like the money from the CEO's and CFO's - they realize that a corporation doesn't survive just from those folks, but that they need all of the middle and lower folks too - and that if the janitor can't afford to eat - then your CEO's bathroom is going to be a filthy stinkhole.
In order to get their cushy sit-on-my-butt-do-nothing-vote-once-a-month-go-on-all-expenses-paid-junkets jobs, they will do anything, say anything, lie, cheat, pilfer, break into the oppositions' offices, wiretap, make fake phone calls telling folks not to vote....
Because it's all about pulling down a big salary - in a job where you can vote yourself a HUGE raise - while basically sitting on your butt and reading the Wall St. Journal.

Maybe the question should be, why are there political parties at all? With the establishment of the party system we are that much farther away from real democracy.
The fight is simply a way to make themselves look good, by demonizing the opposition. Kind of like the war or religions.

Adult thinking... but most think bitter at lost so then if you loose blame the other guy it so much easier..Look at some of the Senators in New York they make faces at the speakers of the house and still get elected.
Why we vote the way we do and party lines are much smaller than ever before it just a ego for the one running..

I easily tend to assist the form of u . s .. in spite of the undeniable fact that I achieve this, i think of of myself as analytical and open minded. i assume that "negativity" and "concern mongering" are, like attractiveness, interior the attention of the beholder. In my eyes many of the call calling and divisiveness in this website comes from Democrats and Liberals. To me, there is stable reason to concern the consequence of Obama's rules and the spending to assist them. Calculating the value of each and all of the trillions in extra debt is purpose and mathematical, no longer partisan. Please enable me pose a hypothetical question for you: in case you have been a reasonable average citizen of Germany in 1932, listening to the ever starting to be propaganda of the Nazis, might you merchandise? only what might the midsection floor have been then? As you comprehend, the "midsection floor" may be the place you will possibly have ended up -- interior the floor six feet decrease than. basically a thought.

I think a lot of liberal viewpoints have been demonized by others, for one thing......people are led to believe that if we support abortion rights, or don't want a gay marriage amendment, then we are bad people......then there's no room for reasoning or compromise

You're right in that they only have the interest of the people at heart. The trouble is, they get so caught up in who's right and who's wrong they forgot what they share.

Because people that are full of themselves don't like to listen to other people.... that's why they became politicions... so they could tell people what to do, not to listen.
