That is a question that should not be answered. I think if somebody did eventually figure it out, it would launch the world into world war III (or IV, or V. Hey, anything can happen right? Let's just hope it's only III though...), or maybe even bring on the apocolypse because it's such an opinion related question that even if somebody did find out that it was true, the truth, and the only truth, some country with a religious leader would get all offended because it may favor a certain religion, and bomb the place where it was figured out, then some other country would get all offended by that and bomb them back, and then we've just got all these weapons flying around and then the world would just go BOOM!
But if you really want to know I think the meaning of life is, then it's probably just to stop trying to figure out what the meaning of life is and just live.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

A question many of us ponder though we will probably never find the answer, for some reason what so ever.
May be it is to win over our mind, may be it is to know the real you - the inner self, may be to know where we were before we were born and where we go after we die... so many such things which none of us are sure about.
Whatever be the meaning of life, all of us can uplift it by being positive in any given situation and facing its worst moments with the same attitude as we face the best moments of life.

You cannot arrive at your life's purpose by starting with a focus on yourself. You must begin with God, your Creator. You exist only because God wills that you exist. You were made by God and for God - and until you understand that, life will NEVER make sense. The easiest way to discover the purpose of an invention is to ask the creator to explain it.

The question "what is the meaning of life?" means different things to different people. The vagueness of the query is inherent in the word "meaning", which opens the question to many interpretations, such as: "What is the origin of life?", "What is the nature of life (and of the universe in which we live)?", "What is the significance of life?", "What is valuable in life?", and "What is the purpose of, or in, (one's) life?". These questions have resulted in a wide range of competing answers and arguments, from scientific theories, to philosophical, theological, and spiritual explanations.

I don't think we're supposed to know the meaning of life, just to live it the best way we can.
