My central air isn't working as it should?

I have the heat set at 70 degrees and its still cold in my house. All of the ducts are open and I had changed the filter. What could be the problem?

Check to see that the outdoor unit is working. The blower fan and the compressor both need to be working.

Change the switch from cool to heat setting.

If gas fired ,then I would suspect no ignition . If heat pump ,check for fuse .
