If they fail, are they fired? Or do they simply get demoted to menial jobs like emptying trash cans or handling report abuse submissions?

Yes our company does. We do electrical sub-contracting and sometimes it's very dangerous work so if you fail a drug test you get fired. You could get yourself or someone else seriously hurt if you're not 100% alert and conscious of what you're doing.

Against the law in most places to fire the people are sent to a treatment program since they can say that they are addicted and stuff

Nope no finding out in any respect. They have not even appeared at my resume. I have been given employed from an exterior source. I only take a seat on line and play all day. and that i artwork for the county too.......

No drug testing here. You wouldn't get fired but they would require treatment of the problem.

Mine used to but not anymore. I think if you fail you are put onto probation and you have to go to classes on being drug free.

You bet they do. I work in a hospital. Around here, it's pretty much fired if you test positive.

they only drug test the drivers. the office and the other guys out in the field are not tested.

yes, of course, it's a friggin hospital.
I think you can go to treatment if they like you enough. I don't care. Clean and sober almost 3 years.

i work offshore and they do surprise drug test you fail your fired and if they search your bags they call the coast guard or marshall and you go to jail
