I need a CREDIBLE source for this. It doesn't have to be exact, an approximate figure will do. I need to be able to describe the comparison to a non-techie and I need a citable source.

(I myself am quite computer literate, so you don't have to "dumb it down" to answer the question for me. I just have to describe it to someone that thinks AOL Dialup is a satisfactory internet service).

depends on the type of DSL you get. basic date rate is 128KB

T1 is 1.544MB

But as with any ISP, you will never get that data rate, due to over head.

get roadrunner thru your cable company i promise that u wont be disappointed at all its ten times faster than dsl and t1 does not even come close

Much faster, bandwidth.com has a speed test and calculator to help put this into a graphical context.

i think its like 54kps and dsl is like 30 somethin

it is FANtastic...i Used it in my last job and it was great...alot faster...not tons of waiting zip zip zip
