No, Speaker Pelosi has outlined a comprehensive plan for what the Dems plan to do within the first 100 hours of their taking power to address these concerns. The Dems will most likely adopt the Murtha plan as our plan on Iraq - and it looks like Bush is headed that way, too. The Baker Panel is expected to deliver findings strikinly similar to those arrived at by Murtha.

On terriorism, Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid have both comitted to enacting ALL of the 9-11 Commission recomendations, which Bush has not done. Once those laws are passed, it will be up to Bush to sign them or veto them. Most Americans want the 9-11 Commission recomendations to become law, so Bush will go along.

The Dems actually have a stronger position on immigration than the GOP. Bush is the one that wants the "guest worker" program, not us. The Dems will focus on protecting American jobs by going after the companies that hire illegals. They will also tighten boarder security by fully funding the U.S. Boarder Patrol and insuring port security, which Bush has not done.

The Dems will not raise your taxes. Regular people like you and I did not get a tax cut from George Bush - only the rich. Speaker Pelosi has said she will raise the minimum wage immediately and that she will allow the Bush tax cuts to not be renewed - that means the super wealthy will have to pay their fair share, just like the rest of us. That will pay for the war in Iraq and the giant deficit. She is also committed to rolling back the alternative minimum tax, which will actually mean a tax cut for the middle class.

You've bought the propaganda about what the Democrats really stand for. I think if you open your eyes and ears you'll see we share your values. Bush is not your friend.

UPDATED: Keith, these ideas have been out there for ages. Murtha has be touting his plan for two years, Democratic spokespeople have been on the news daily talking about the economy. I think the perception of the Dems as a party of blame comes from where you get your news. If you're a Fox or a Rush watcher you're not going to hear from Dems because they're really not allowed on those programs. This stuff has been out there and obviously the voters are open to the message.

That booming economy was just a recovery from where it was when Bush took the office. The stock-market...well...have you notice the stock market going up as the housing market has been going down...hmm.

Finally, I found that question funny in itself. Bush kept using that as a point not to elect "what is their plan". Yet, when Bush/Cheney/Snow was asked the same question about the plan to finish Iraq, no answers were given.

Now, to the point, the Dems will look at way to do exactly what Bush said should happen. After the election, Iraq will stand up as we stand down.

They will seek to end dependecy on oil in general by seeking alternitive fuel methods ( yeah Bush mentioned a few months ago but that has been a talking point of Dems for 6 years atleast)

They will further the economy by restructing the tax cuts to target the middle class (the people that spend money which is a economic factor)

They will make it harder for companies to send jobs to foreign companies. Putting more Americans to work with better paying jobs so they can start spending money (see above)

Yes the democtats love to blame everything on Bush and others. Anything that they have ever done wrong seems to be okay for some reason. Had the democrats not let those other countries and terrorist groups push us around so much, we might not be in the position we are in now. I always have this question for people talking bad about President Bush and the other officials, how would you like to have to deal with the things that they do and do they think they could make it all so much better??? The democrats obviously didn't before how could they now?? Now that they are in power I do worry about being safe in our own country and that is a sad thing.

On immigration...

This is where the republicans failed their conservative base. If the democrats enact a policy of demagnification which means going after companies that hire illegals and going after government employees that knowingly give benefits to illegals such as welfare and food stamps then the democrats could gain more voters.

On Impeachment..

Pelosi has already ruled that out and even if she wanted to do it there's not enough time or numbers.

On Iraq..

Twice the democrats were asked to vote on troop withdrawl and twice they rejected it.

On the economy..

The economy is improving it has been for awhile but it's not "booming". I don't give credit to the government for a good economy i give credit to the private sector.

On terrorism..

This will be the biggest test for them as Americans feel Al Queda is not the threat it once was , Bush deserves credit for that, but things in Iraq have been stagnant not worse but not better..not as good as most would like.

I expect gridlock as neither side has a large majority.

All good points Texascrazy horse.

The only thing I would add is that Pelosi is commited to reducing
the interest rates on college loans, refunding the student
aid programs that Bush cut, new restrictions on lobbyists in the wake of the Abramoff scandal, and elimianting the federal subsidies to the oil companies.

And its worth repeating, she is not going to be raising yours or my taxes.

They want to blame Bush, allow alot of things to keep going, to keep blaiming him.

They will try to raise mim wage, raise taxes, do away with Bushes tax cuts and sorta Ignore any terrorism threat or any immigration issues.
