Are the potential pay-offs worth calling with any Flush or only with an Ace Flush?

Any flush is good in my books if there are only three cards of that suit in the flop and you hold the other two. If there are four of the suit down then I'd only go for it with a high one in my hand.

You simply cannot be as black-and-white as it is, or it isn't, profitable. What's certain is that if you hit a small flush and somebody has a higher one, it's going to cost you a fair chunk of change. Ace high is probably the best bet, but you can still make money with smaller flushes.

Don't get into the habit of playing ANY flush cards. Remember that part of the strength of your flush draw is the high cards in your hand; you can 'miss' your flush and hit a top pair that way.

If you have four on the flop and one in your hand is high then go for it. If you have five on the flop, raise and re-raise every one out of the hand1
