Do I do anything before the baby gets here?

you dont have to do anything before it comes....but its said that if something happens to the parents then you are responsiable for the baby.

Buy the baby a present.

Your duties are to look over the child if anything is to happen to its parents.

There isn't really anything you can do for the baby before he or she is born. Godparents look out for the baby in case the parents pass away. Good luck.

Don't forget to pray for Mom and Baby -- and get things lined up for the baptism when baby comes.

The only one that matters you take care of that child if something happens to the parents, even if you dont get custody it is your responsiblity to ensure the child is cared for properly and knows who their parents were.
