The pregnancy test i took that showed that i was pregnant 7 days before my period was even due was a brand called "Answer"....
What's the best test to use? This seems to change periodically! Some tests are well-liked and then a "bad batch" comes out, and some tests are known for being duds but then switch manufacturers and redeem themselves. See the HPT Overview section for current comments on each brand.
If you are trying to detect a pregnancy 13 DPO or earlier, you probably want to use a more sensitive brand. Anything that detects 25 mIU/mL of hCG (English: anything that detects a tiny bit of pregnancy hormone) is good for early testing. See the HPT Overview section to see which tests are most sensitive and the HPT Showdown for a real-life comparison of 15 brands.
Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.

RE:
What is the most accurate over the counter pregnancy test?
If I am pregnant, I would be nearly 3 weeks. Are there over the counter pregnancy tests that will pick up the increased hormone levels of a 3 week pregnant woman, and how accurate are they. Also, if anyone knows, can pregnancy symptoms be the same as menopausal symptoms, eg. tender breasts,...

I think they all work the same! They all measure for the horemone found in your urine. I used a $7.00 Walgreen's brand. I know a few people who used a dollar store test, as well as people who bought the $40 EPT tests. All of us found out we were pregnant early on.

The wal-mart equate brand was 100% accurate with my two pregnancies. and i didn't have to pay much for it too, especially that I took many many pregnancy test for my second pregnancy because I was nursing my first and there was no way for me to know if I were pregnant sinceI didn't get my period back.

Can quite possibly have the same symptoms.
I got the same results with a dollar store as with an expensive name brand test. The best advice I can give you is test with first morning urine as it has the highest concentration of hormones in it.

well, i have always had problems with generic tests. name brands have been my best friends. with the gneric tests, each time i took them the tests results were invalid for some reason. they just weren't as good of quality.
