After months of tests my doctor has told me I have IBS. Just wanted to know what other people take to ease the cramps amongst other things!
All answers very appreciated.

I found that porridge helped mine. Scott`s porage oats, not the ready brek sort. I don`t have cows milk anymore, instead I have sweetened soya milk. In fact it`s much nicer on cereals, inc the porridge, and you can`t tell in cooking. Now drink earl grey tea (no milk) and black coffee. Don`t eat yogurt`s, cottage cheese, and mayo can upset. Horlicks was also a culprit. I found that dairy was the main cause, and by a process of elimination I cut things out completely or cut down on them. I don`t take any meds though. Worry and anxiety can aggravate it as well.

Hi. I went through lots of tests too and told I had IBS. I have been prescribed Colofac and Imodium. But found that changing my diet has helped. I now avoid citrus fruit and keep caffine and dairy products to a minimum. Also spicy foods made my stomach cramp. I take Aloe Vera tablets and sometimes a pepermint tea also helps.Exercise eases the cramps too.

No wheat, no milk or yoghurt, no yeast, no msg, nothing processed in tins or packets, no cooked meats or bacon with nitrites, no sweets, no chocolate, cakes, biscuits, no coke, lemonade, no alcohol, no sauces. Small amount of cheese, eggs & plenty of fruit, veg, meat, fish, soya products, home made rice & potato bread, nuts, pulses, water and a lot of very pricey goji berries from the Himalayas. Bit drastic, took 6 months to come to terms with it but does the trick. Be different for each person I guess, takes a while to find out your triggers.
