this is an amazing website...it has all the songs online...almost all of the latest CDs are also available..u can't download the songs on your PC..but u can listen to any song u want..u can even make a WebCd of your own choice..
u will require a good internet connection to have a smooth listening..u can play the songs on either Windows Media Player or Real Player..either of the two...

download Itunes for free then goto their online store while in Itunes, you can check out short clips on every song or album the artist has

any music downloading type program should let you. itunes, napster , etc.
on the web i use yahoomusic. you can sample whole songs for free and even buy them directly. yahoomusic has lots of great features.
