She has actually been a pretty fair minority leader in the House.
Let's see what happens now that she has some real power.

Too often, people coming into power abuse it.
Case-in-point: the Republicans.

Pelosi needs (repeat: NEEDS) to be focused on her party winning the White House in 2008 AND keeping some control in Congress.

If she and her fellow Democrats have HALF a brain, they'll take my advice:

1. the Dem's need to distance themselves from the far, far, far left (think: Howard Dean, Al Sharpton, etc...).
We're mostly middle America, we can accept some abortions and some issues on homosexuals, but we're not non-religious, drug-induced radicals out looking for another party to have wild sex with everyone.

2. Dem's need to come up with winning strategy for domestic issues long ignored by Republicans, such as health care, education and jobs...as well as addressing the serious trade deficit.

3. NOW is the time to FORCE alternative energy programs into action...are the Dem's really "green" or, Like Al Gore, just talk the talk?

4. DEAL with ILLEGAL immigration...this country is better off with new ideas from new people, but not on the condition that they don't pull their own weight while enjoying the fruits of Democracy.

5. Come up with acceptable plans to ease out of Iraq, support a fight against terror and work to unify ties with friendly foreign nations...America is not some island in the stream, we ALL are in this together, from Albania to Zimbabwe.

6. Work WITH the Republicans and Bush...they are expecting a lot of crap, but take the high road instead and show them the Dem's are willing to work together...after all, it isn't about us-versus-them, we're ALL Americans and we all have a vested interest in a better nation.

Well, Nancy is kind of fuzzy but she can be cold as ice if you get in her way. San Francisco loves her. She never met a moral dilemma in that city because she apparently has no morals. But, reality will hit her with the new congress. Liberals are few and far between in the new one. Center will be the playground.
Bet you feel warm and fuzzy just because she's a woman. Bet you don't know anything about her politics. Bet you don't care because you sing, "I am woman, hear me roar....I know it's old and I'm a bore....but it better her than him.......Cuz Gore is such a bore...."

Nancy Pelosi? Don't like her too much. No fuzzy feelings.

I'm a democrat.

The fact that we took the House is awesome...But I do know her stance on issues well enough to feel warm or fuzzy.

I'm very pleased.

Someone said they should go for someone more moderate... but the current speaker Dennis Hastert is a conservative through and through. How hypocritical!

Im all for a Democrat being speaker, but Pelosi? I think we need a more moderate person, but she'll do I suppose.

She was one of only 2 who voted against going into both Afghanistan after Bin Laden and Iraq. She is a total pacifist and will not work to defend this country, even in the light of new terrorist attacks.

She's scarier than the terrorists!
