I am trying to find a program or even a spreadsheet that will turn data that I have into an equation that equals an answer that I already have. I basically have the data and the answer but I need to know the equation. Thanks!

In Excel you can graph the data and then add a trendline. You can even have it display the equation for the trendline. Some possible choices for fit are linear (line), exponential, polynomial of degree 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.

take the first set of data such as values in A1 the do whatever math equation that you need by the second set of data eg B1

insert this into the sum bar that is = bar or in another cell using

=(a1 MATH EQUATION b1) THE PRESS ENTER

Solver, an add-in included with Microsoft Excel, can do this for you.

It's too complicated to explain in this fomrat, but use the help feature on Solver within Excel and you'll get it.
