his sad and disgusting murder must not be used as a excuse for people to discriminate or attack young asians for revenge of this very unfortunate young boy ... at the end of the day we are are all basically the same ... we walk on our hind legs (upright) we all have the capacity to speak verbally to one another .... our blood is the same colour and we all breathe the same air WE ARE THE SAME a small matter like skin pigmentation should not be a acceptable excuse to attack or discriminate anyone

i also believe we need to be better educated in other Scottish/British peoples cultures .... we are one counry with many cultures .... cultures every scot should embrace ... say a program like young scots should visit a mosque one week and a synagogue the next etc so we can respect their communities better Goverment at a local and national level should also play a major role

that is my beliefs and i stand by them

but i would like to know what yahoo users believe

I think that anyone who disses someone else's skin colour should be put in therapy. Obviously their minds aren't working properly, everyone's the same, and skin colour doesn't make any difference to what a person's like. I agree with the whole culture thing, but why just Scotland? Every country should have something like that.

You're very nice and liberal about all this.

The fact is I know of several incidences right here in South Wales when white people have been attacked by Asians and nothing has been done because once the asian attacker whips out the "race" card the police won't touch it. Which is a blatant miscarriage of justice for the vitcim.

My BF's boss spent a week in hospital with head injuries, concussion and wounds requiring 15 stitches after a Pakistani neighbour battered him unconcious with a police truncheon in a row about the family cat! Not only did the poilce let the Pakistani guy off scott free but the very next day after BF's boss got out of hospital he and his teenage daughter were ARRESTED because the Pakistani guy hs claimed that they'd called him a racist name (I don't know if they did or not but he was threatening to poison their cat if he caught it in his garden again, nasty man)! Since when was a verbal insult more serious than a vicious attack which results in severe head injuries??

Beleive me if the boot had been on the other foot and a white guy had attacked a Pakistani guy with a truncheon it would have been front page news and the white guy would have been looking at a lengthy prison term.

So I think that anger over the Kriss Donald case is because its not an isolated incident. its happening all the time and people are starting to feel resentful. Especially when you look at the amount of media coverage the Stephen Lawrence case got. Because he was black, is his death somehow more important than Kriss' was because Kriss was white? Do you think Kriss will get a memorial the same as Stephen did? I don't

This sort of inequality breeds hate and resentment unfortunately. You have to open your eyes to what is going on around you,

As for "forcing" young people to visit mosques etc thats just going to breed resetnment. You'd have to "force" young asians to visit churches too.

Personally I wouldn't go within 50 feet of a mosque. Been in a few Hindu temples though. Much nicer people.

Sorry pal but I am most definately NOT the same as those evil -------, and I dont care what colour they are.
I remember being taught in primary school [20years ago]about different religions and cultures so thats not a new idea.
We are one country with many cultures but the problem is some[not all] people dont want to accept the culture of the country they live in. If I was scottish but born in Iraq or Afghanistan do you think I would be allowed to go around and behave the way I can in Scotland eg;socialising, smoking wearing what I want going out when I want. Idont think so.
Personally I dont care who lives here but don't ask me to accept someone elses culture if they cant accept mine.

the great distinction in coverage is totally because of the race of the sufferers in touch. The business enterprise and it relatively is Lefty hangers on needed something that proved their defective theory that this is often white perpetrators and black sufferers. those in this thread who're cheating sufficient to declare that this is using the shortcoming of arrests around the Stephen Lawrence case ought to describe why the Stephen Lawrence concerns itself with racism and not campaigning against police incompetence. I f Stephen Lawrence have been white and a sufferer off a black racist attack we would have heard as little of him as we do Kris Donald.unhappy yet genuine. be conscious: the biggest leftist weekly, Socialist worker, never coated the story.

Visit a mosque? You'd be lucky to get me in a church. I have lived in Shawlands for many years and I am glad we have an MP like Mohammed Sarwar. He is a gem. I am still a Tory though.

I heard that those three asian guys were no angels and had a string of convictions. If you want to put it another way, they wern't asians they were just criminals and murderers. The fact that they went looking for someone white made it racial. It's not fair that all asians should have to suffer for these 3 fools!

Why do you say that? Of couse it's no excuse to attack young asians. We don't need a lecture to tell us what any mentally stable person already knows.

Scottish people ARE cultured........it is statistical fact that there is less racism in scotland than anywhere else in the UK . Multi cultures should not be blinded by one albeit horrendous murder .

All this visiting sounds fine - but you studiously omit one option - Muslims visiting Christian Churches or Synagogues.
