I believe several cricketers have beeen awarded the MBE. Do have a look at these pages. Each one has been awarded an MBE.

The Ashes winning team of 2005 were all awarded MBE's or OBE's.

Dermot Reeve was awarded an OBE back in 1995/6 for his service to cricket. I'm sure many other have also been awarded similar for their services to cricket.

I believe most the correct info you have, however my 10p from a different angle. The honors have truly been stripped of any cachet following the entire England team being awarded them for winning the ashes! What rot. To present honors for a one-off is questionable.
