I hate shorts like that; no amount of annoying girls could convince me to wear them.
Just wear what you want. If you like them, wear them, if not, don't think you have to impress anyone. If you haven't tried them in awhile, you might want to just to see if you don't hate them anymore or anything.
But I never, ever wear short shorts and don't feel bad about it. XD

If you're not comfortable wearing short shorts (AKA Daisy Dukes), then you shouldn't feel obligated to wear them. Now, it's a tough thing when in college to not go along with the crowd - I know that. But you have your reasons for not wearing the shorts, I assume. Perhaps you can wear shorts - just not necessarily the really short ones, and still be comfortable in the heat. If prefer pants/slacks, you probably can find some capris or skirts that are still fashionable.
Along with educational aspirations, college life is about learning more about yourself, challenging yourself as well as exploring and experiencing life. Don't worry so much about what the others are doing - if it doesn't suit you, so be it. If they cannot accept you for that, find new friends.

You do not do what you are not comfortable with, no matter what..
This is true of fashion, fashions come and go, you have to go on leaving with yourself and your feelings.
When you really are feeling hot you will think of putting on modest shorts that are good fitting loose enough to circulate air, well pressed and feel good about them, and above all feel good and comfy.
Jen made this statement,"show the boyz some leg". " what should I do" ? You said.
You should be/are focused, I hope, you are there to study and not there to show your legs or any thing else to the boys. So stay focused. If you change you mind then that is up to you. There is time for every thing and you or your parents or some one are/is spending a lot of money to get educated, so do what you came to do.
I hope this has help you to make informed dress code adherence according to your moral standards and true feelings.
Show this to Jen, see what she thinks. You can never please every one at all time but you can always please your self first and always.

Wear the short shorts if you like, but be sure to check your appearance in a full length mirror, to be sure you like what you see, especially from the back! :o
Also, consider wearing long (mid calf length to above ankle) full skirts - they are cooler in hot weather than either shorts or trousers, especially if the latter are tight fitting or heavy fabric. Rayon challis or Lightweight (but opaque) cotton fabrics "breathe" and are low maintenance. You'd be dressed appropriately for most occasions in a skirt, and men seem to appreciate a feminine appearance. ;-)

"Daisy Dukes" are out of style anyway, so you're definitely normal. I wear shorts too in warm weather, but they're more like bermuda length or another modest length. I still look great, and wearing tiny clothes for attention looks desperate in my opinion.

Wear jeans and a bathing suit top. Then, just roll up the bottom of the jeans. Or wear a beach skirt that covers the beauty mark with a tank top or tee shirt :) Hey, even a pair or cut ripped shorts will do :)

why don't you get a pair of longer shorts. Those are really in now, too. They look nice with polo tops or something "yacht club-ish" :-) There are also a lot of different styles and lengths of capris which you can dress up or dress down as you see fit.
You don't have to compromise your morals or personal style to be fashionable or be comfortable.

Every person has their own personality. You don't have to follow the crowd. I mean, if someone jumped off the bridge, you wouldn't follow them now, would you? So like I was saying, wear what makes you feel comfortable.

if you don't feel comfortable, don't wear them. Girls can be B*****s, as we all know, and they shouldn't be telling you what to do. If you do get hot and don't want to wear shorts, try a skirt instead.
