I realize that my name doesn't exactly lead itself to non-partisanship, but I'm looking for honest viewpoints and not attacks.

Have we reached a level of threat that we need to take more drastic measures to ensure safety?

Do we need to torture/waterboard/whatever you want to call it prisoners in order to protect ourselves?

Do we need to suspend the right to a trial and habeas corpus to detainees ("enemy combatants")? Keep in mind, however, that Bush is the sole person that declares a person an "enemy combatant."

Do we need extraordinary rendition?

Do we need to kidnap Muslims outside of the U.S. in order to protect ourselves? There's a link if you like: http://www.boston.com/news/world/europe/articles/2005/12/24/italy_court_pushes_cia_kidnap_case/

Have we, America, come under enough of a threat that we have to take these actions, as unfortunate as they may be?

ofcourse not there just human beings like us, they deserve every right we have......wow that made me sick just thinking there are people that really believe this garbage. How many different ways do we have to show these people pose a threat and will not go away. Sadly its going to take one of these monsters to destroy an entire city before they realize. I sure hope its not mine first.

Good day...we are at a crossroads my friend where we must choose safety or freedom if we are to be free then we run a high risk of another 911 it is sad but true to answer that is very tricky I do not condone torture I believe as a christian we do not have that right to act as animals just because those who we fight((fanatics not muslims)) will die before hurting their own cause I do not completely blame bush this government was set up to ensure we are the boss of our own leaders yet we do nothing we cried out for revenge and blood and Bush answered it...Sometimes the right choice to make is not the easiest and to me the right choice would be to take back freedom and take the risks that come with it

Well since you and your friends put the Dems in charge we should probably all arm ourselves to protect ourselves from all those poor misunderstood terrorists and Mexican gangs. Are those drastic measures to you also?

Since the terrorists are cheering over the dems win I feel the need to go buy more weapons if that's what ya mean.

NO WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS SECURE OUR BOARDERS PUT INSPECTORS IN EVERY PORT IN THE US INSPECT EVERY PIECE OF ANYTHING THAT ENTERS THIS COUNTRY. WE NEED TO PUT MAXIMUM SECURITY ON EVERY FLIGHT THAT ENTERS THE US WHICH MEANS EVERY PASSENGER WILL BE SEARCHED AND ALL THEY CARRY. AT THEIR POINT OF DEPARTURE WHEREVER THAT MAY BE INVESTIGATE EVERY PERSON HERE ON A VISA AND REVOKE VISAS ON THOSE WHO ARE HERE ON QUESTIONABLE TERMS. PULL OUR TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ AND LET THE MIDDLE EAST FIGHT IT OUT BETWEEN THEMSELVES. PROTECT OUR OWN AND WE WILL BE PROTECTED. THIS WILL COST ALOT BUT ALOT LESS THAN WHAT WE SPEND EACH MONTH ON THE WAR...DRILL FOR DOMESTIC OIL (SORRY ALASKA) AND BECOME SELF MAINTAINING. SHUT THE DOORS FOR AWHILE AND LET THE WORLD SEE HOW THEY GET ALONG WITHOUT US FOR 10 YEARS OR SO.
