I realize that my name doesn't exactly lead itself to non-partisanship, but I'm looking for honest viewpoints and not attacks.
Have we reached a level of threat that we need to take more drastic measures to ensure safety?
Do we need to torture/waterboard/whatever you want to call it prisoners in order to protect ourselves?
Do we need to suspend the right to a trial and habeas corpus to detainees ("enemy combatants")? Keep in mind, however, that Bush is the sole person that declares a person an "enemy combatant."
Do we need extraordinary rendition?
Do we need to kidnap Muslims outside of the U.S. in order to protect ourselves? There's a link if you like: http://www.boston.com/news/world/europe/articles/2005/12/24/italy_court_pushes_cia_kidnap_case/
Have we, America, come under enough of a threat that we have to take these actions, as unfortunate as they may be?
