Emo or not?

Question

I like skull and crossbones stuff and I like the colour black, but I don't think I'm an emo. Loads of people say I am, but I have brown hair, no piercings and I'm not always depressed! I wear colours apart from black too. Am I an emo or not?

I would say you would be more goth than emo but 2 most ppl there all the same. Its not only about hair colour and pericings that make you an emo - i no u sed ur not always depressed but its more to do with things like thinking about death and bad things that happened in your life. And emos dont just wear black. So not knowing you i cannot judge you, and you should not let others judge you. be who you want to be.

you sound much more goth-style than emo. that actually doesn't sound emo at all...punk-rock kids are emo kids. sure they may wear black and do the skull and crossbones thing, but that doesn't mean they are depressed...emo is a style of music....a way of life....depends on how far you take it....i'm sick of the misconceptions on what an emo kid is....

well first of all alot of people wear the colour black and like it. i know alot of people. also i like skull &cross bone stuff as its v.fashionable at the moment , im deffo not an emo so that dosent count. also, emos are not always depressed there v.emo-tioanl though...

Just kidding, really, but still no. You don't sound emo at all, just like you have a liking for some goth and emo fashion.

LOL! Kids these days use emo as a put down, it seems like. You're not emo. They don't know what they're talking about.

Just because you like something that's related to a certain 'clique' or whatever, doesn't automatically mean you're part of it.

I like DC's but I'm no skater. I also like nikes, but I'm not prep or chav. They're either trying to put your down or label you or both, and they obviously don't know what they're talking about.

Also, remember: Just because SOME people fit perfectly into a label, doesn't mean everyone does, there are plenty of people out there that don't fit into a label, and you're one of them. (That drives small-minded people crazy!)

Its an outside view, if you feel OK in what you were they you should be OK, don't class yourself as something, yes, do follow fashion if you want but in YOUR own way, never try to be the next person in the line, be you, be beautiful.

i like to dye my hear and wear mostly black clothes, but its just my style. im smily, not miserable. life's for enjoying....ignore the labels that people seem to feel the need to slap on everyone and just carry on being you, its much easier!!!

no way there is a dif between emo and punk really ppl get it right do you cute your self? do you try to kill your self daily ?
