In my opinion... its just a bunch of people reciting a violent poem about their girls and their cars with a beat attached to it. I cant stand it.

There are quite a few people who make the same ignorant generalization that you make. My suggestion... do some research. You don't have to like rap. Thats why there are so many genres of music out there.
There is A LOT of positive rap music out there. Music that talks about uplifting people, and treating their woman with respect, etc. Check out Common for example. The music on the radio, and on TV represents a small fraction on what rap music is. So again... do some research. Or spend your time posting a question about something you do like. I don't waste my time of stuff I don't like.

I like some rap. And some of it sucks a**. But like all other genres of music, it's an expression of feelings and a lot of these people are just fronting and looking like fools but there's also a lot of them that are rapping about what they know. People get all pissed off and say rappers just talk about drugs and sex and gang violence. But that's what they know. If these guys grew up in quiet, suburban neighborhoods, they would be rapping like Vanilla Ice and we all know how that would turn out.

rap today has changed alot since i was growing up. there are no longer the rapper staht rap for a cause like KRS1 or Public Enemy but you are right there are alot of them out there promoting violence and sad to say that is what sells. i prefer not to listen to.
common is not a rapper he is a poet. do your research. he just added music to his poetry.

I don't see how this is really a question, but I'll answer anyway. Honestly, it doesn't matter what your opinion is. Everyone listens to what THEY like. Personally, I like a variety of artists, and Eminem happens to be one of them. So what?

i love rap it is the bom that is all i listing to everything else is love songs and some people don't want to set around and cry all the time explicitly if they are single been there and done that too many times
