I personally like HP laptops... they are reasonable and reliable.

Dell is okay, good laptop and reliable, but WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE DELL FINANCIAL to finance your computer using a Dell charge account. They are the RUDEST people I have ever dealt with, and it is impossible to actually speak with anyone from this country as they have outsourced their financial program to another country, so there is an endless communication gap. If you miss one payment, they jack your interest rate up to 25%, and they constantly charge you late fees because your due date changes every month. AND, they refuse to change your due date to any other part of the month, even though they say they will. They are liars and cheats! I will never, ever (even if someone gave me one!) own another Dell product...

The people at the actual Dell place where you pick your parts out and everything are nice, but once you start dealing with Dell Fincial, the gloves are off, baby... - BethAnne

I love Dell! I own 4 computers and they are all Dell. I have never had a problem with any of them. And, yes, one of them is a laptop. The ONLY downside I've ever noticed from Dell is that you have to purchase your accessories directly from Dell because other stores don't carry them. But it's easy enough to do it that way. Good Luck! No, I don't work for Dell or know anyone who does.

I am presently using a Dell Inspiron 1200 laptop for over a year right now. It is just a basic model, but it has done everything I demanded of it thus far. It cost about $500. I think they are an excellent value for the money. It all boils down to personal preference in the end what you choose.

The one best thing to look for in any computer or laptop is warranty and support. Dell has one of the best warranties and best turn around time for repair. Depending on the level of support you purchase, you can get someone to come out and fix your computer in 4 hours. Toshiba laptops are pretty decent and Sony as well. Gateway computers and laptops are not that great and often have issues.

Dells are fairly reasonable and just as reliabel as anything else to be honest. If you can get a "special offer" one that meets your needs you're okay. Dell get expensive if you start changing the base specification on a laptop though.

Dell does have quite good on-site next day repair which can be very useful.

Dell's are good, depends on what you are going to do with and if you are going to carry it everywhere. There is a lot of snobbery re laptops, as long as you have an update to date processor, a good amount of RAM and ample storage you should be all set. Think the extended warranty is a sensible idea too. They can be fragile. Top tip is to use an external hard drive regularly to back up data.

Dell's are good pc's but if you have a problem with one you might as well chuck it in the bin because to get it sent of to be repaired.etc costs postage, cost to be repaired is expensive as well. It isn't like going to a pc shop and buying one then having a problem, you can just take it back and they will give you a replacement there and then, and also Dell's laptop batteries are dodgy too.

I can tell you from experience that if you want a dell, go for the higher end. I have an inspiron, and I don't know anyone whose inspiron worked for more than a year. And since the warranty is only a year long, so there you go. If you must have a dell, get a lattitude. I reccomend HP though, they are hardy and don't intend to explode. All the inspirons I know melted or erased themselves, don't do it.

Mac all the way. Dell is for specific the classic one, yet by way of reviews, it is somewhat no longer the proper decision. i've got been using macs this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and it is somewhat worked for me. I say get yet another mac, it very lots suits you interior the failings you ought to do favourite with it.
