Best - hard to pick just one, but THE SEARCHERS stands out.
Worst - THE GREEN BERETS - what a load of Viet Nam Propaganda

Although he finally won an Oscar for True Grit, my favorite is McClintock, maybe North to Alaska too. My mom would have included The High and the Mighty. The worst? Hmmm The Green Beret is in there for sure, along with some of his old movies where he played police/detective type characters.

I would say that an old western where John Wayne plays a lawman called Singing Sandy believe it or not is his worst. For his best that is tuff but I will say McClintock would be up there.

The best are The Searchers and Hondo. The worst by far, putting politics aside, was The Conqueror.

"The Cowboys", "The Sons of Katie Elder", "Hatari!" (cheesy good), "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" & "The Searchers" are my favorites. And saying John Wayne made a bad movie is down right un-American, pilgrim.
