Ddin't Phil Collins fax his wife about their split? I think that might lose him some respect. Sting lost my respect when he started all that tantric stuff. Or maybe he just seem cooler when I was younger.

I think when he moved to Switzerland a lot of people let out a sigh of relief.I did listen to his music in the late 80's and thought he was alright.Having said that at some point he was on " Miami Vice " and " This is your life " maybe at the time the music trend had changed for the better with the emergence of Indie and a lot of people just wanted a change. By then a lot of people's attitude was " Ok Phil, you've made your £50 million now kindly hit the road! "
What annoyed me was there about '99 or 2000 he had his " Dance into the light tour" or something like that, the concert was for something like two years in advance and I thought You arrogant pr*^%, you will be lucky if you sell Wolverhampton Civic Hall let alone Wembley!, but that's the fickle mistress that is fame.
Don't know how I feel about Sting.

Phil Collins expressed his displeasure at the potential threat of Labour being elected into power in the 1992 election. This was seen as an endorsement of The Conservative Party by some tabloid newspapers and he was known therafter as "Tory supporting" Phil Collins. He also received criticism following the release of his single "Another Day In Paradise", as he was asking the world to donate money, while he, himself was a millionnaire.
Sting, too, is a millionnaire who has protested strongly for the human rights causes. Sting's renowned for his "Tantric" sex, but this apparently stemmed from a dinner party joke and there is very little truth in it.
Failing that, it could be their association with Disney films! All credibility goes out the window, when you start doing the soundtrack for Disney films - just look at Elton John!!

When they sell out and start singing Disney soundtracks and suchlike which have no character their fans realise that it has become a paying job rather than an art so whats the point to care any more.

It is like they decide they think that fans and touring is just too hard work so they stop being stars and become highly paid session musicians working on music commissions, writing and singing what they are told to for the money.
