Okay, I've bought this cute jean jacket for a long time now, but can't figure out the type of pants or skirt that go well with the jacket. Anytime I try, I end up looking so hillbilly-ish. Any tip to look chic, but casual here?

The jean jacket I bought has this vintage-washed color (a little dark denim color kinda thing) and has two pockets over the chest area.
I am so desperate to pair this with anything. For some reasons, I ALWAYS end up either looking very weird or looking like I just walk out off a farm!

The idiot who said jean jackets are out. No they're SO BACK. Did you notice that '80's fashions are back? And everyone telling you to wear denim pants, NO! Please don't do that! Denim on denim is like the farmer's version of Johnny Cash's black on black - only not as cool.
Flowy skirts, cotton capris and long pants, I'm thinking even gauchos look good with jean jackets. Something cut really slim is good to go underneath the jacket - like a form fitting tank top or skinny turtleneck. Go more professional and try a button down collared shirt. Button up the jacket halfway, leave it open, button it all the way. Unbutton the sleeves and fold them once or twice, button them back up, unbutton them but keep them unfolded, etc. Keep playing with it till you find something that works with you.
Layer on some long necklaces or hoop/long dangly earrings if you still feel like you're from the farm.
Play with different outfits when you have time and then write down what you did or take pictures of it so you can look chic without the effort.
Good luck :-)

DO NOT WEAR IT WITH JEANS OR A JEAN SKIRT, that is not chic
A nice solid pair of pants( any color)
or a pair of cargo pants with nice boots
Most denim jackets aren't chic so the best might be stylish/casual.

You can wear a jean jacket (I have a blazer style one) with any cotton patten skirt, also with any color pants aside from jeans! I wear mine with my black work pants and a colorful top to "dress down" a bit. Or a flower-y skirt and heels. Or Kacki pants...(you get the idea). Maybe the problem is the jacket itself, you want one that is pretty tailored so it does not add bulk to you and make you look/feel heavy. Try one with a bith of banding around the middle to accentuate the thinnest part of your waist.

I know what you mean, I have a jeans jacket that I love, but had trouble finding the right outfit to wear with it. I finally tried long flowing skirts (the kind usually made in India). It gives me a nice, young, earthy look that's not hillbilly-ish. Hope that helps!

I like the first jacket better (the brownish purple one). In my opinion the grey version looks cheap. Since it's a pretty neutral color, it will most likely go with anything. Dark wash jeans would look best. As for shirts, I think any color goes.

Find a casual pant in a pinstripe (natural fabric) - if the jean jacket is casual chic.

It all depends on the style of the jacket. Your not going to look chic if the jacket isnt chic. So if it is i suggest a plain black pair of pants. They go with everything.

you can wear jeans if they are a way different shade like really light or really dark but try it with black pants or a jean skirt with a longer shirt that separates the the colors

if you're really concerned about wearing this jacket, then don't wear it with jeans. i'd only recommend that if you're comfortable in it, and obviously you're having trouble finding something to wear it with! find another color pant, just as long as it's not denim.

not sure what kind of pants you're trying but don't go w/Jean on 'jean' look.... I wear mine with casual pants like cargo's or with other non- denim slacks....as for skirts same applies just go with more casual but neat look - sorry can't be more descriptive...
