My mom wants to have mixed baby shower for my daughter-in-law. I need ideas how to make it more fun, not just like a birthday party or just a dinner, I know that with guys there it won’t be the same, but can it be salvaged anyhow?

I had a mixed baby shower.....
we played games
baby bingo (on a bingo board, everyone writes down what they think you'll rec'v for gifts, and when you open them, they mark off what is on their bingo card...)
mixed up baby item names
we chose nursery rhymes, and split up the sayings onto two cards, we gave everyone one card and the matching cards were tied to balloons around the room - everyone had to go find their matching card....you can put them on their shower favors too!
at my cousin's shower, it wasn't mixed but fun! everyone got a new name when they came in.... ie.. baby bottle, rattle, lullabye, swing, cradle, etc. (baby items) and if you caught anyone using someones real name you got a raffle ticket (we raffled off a bunch of prizes) you can also give everyone a pacifier on a necklace, or even a lei - if you catch someone using the real name, you get their lei/pacifier...at the end of the party, who ever has the most gets a prize.
are there going to be alot of guys? if only a couple...maybe they would like to help out - get some drinks for guests, take pix, video, etc. something to keep them busy but not feel awkward just sitting there.
google/ask baby shower games...there's tons out there! I had a hard time narrowing them down, the party would have gone on forever!!!!
have fun! and it'll be great!

Have some games for the guys there, too.

Get some dolls and have a contest to see who can diaper the doll the fastest correctly.

There are many games you can do for the guys and women at the party, but the fun ones for the guys will be the ones that are geared towards them like the diapering, dressing kids, etc. Have fun with it! Go on the internet! My mother found ideas, and threw my husband a baby shower for him and his friends! It was guys only, and it was all for them! They did the fun games, and did the gifts for our daughter. My husband enjoyed it greatly, and still talks about having to feed a bottle to his partner during a game (my mom had them pair up into teams of 2, and one was the mommy and one was the baby. The mommy had to wear a wig and dress, and the baby had to wear a bonnet and a diaper - all over their clothing, of course - and the one that fed their baby the bottle the fastest won the game). There was also the game with them having to diaper the doll - blindfolded! My mom got some wonderful video of the shower, as well as some great pictures! They looked to have a wonderful time, and it was something for daddy!

Good luck!

You can make it fun with guys there, If these are men that know the couple very well you can do games. You can get a list of babie names together add the couples choices on it and give a copy of it to each person or couple , see if they can guess which names the parents to be chose for their baby. A second game would be name that baby food, get at least 4 jars of baby food/deserts and blind fold them, ask them to guess what baby food they are tasting. At the end of the games whom ever got the most answers right wins a prize. When you are done with that let your daughter-in-law start to open gifts or wait until dinner is over. That day should be shared with the father and his friends, it makes them feel more included. Have fun.

well at all my fam baby showers we played games like you get some game prizes and close pins and every one puts a close pin on. But you are not allowed to say the word baby. if you do the first person who hears it tells the other to give them their pin and who ever has the most pins get the prize. you can also play this game take paper and pencils and every one has to draw what they think the baby will look like but the trick is the have to put the paper on top of their head and draw it and who evers picture looks the best they win. you can even make it more fun and hav ethe guys agains the girls and the one in each group that won for their sex they have to do it against one another and then the best of them wins. oh or this game. You get a big ball of string and tell everyone the have to cut a peaice off that they think will fit perfect around the pregnant girls belly. and who ever is the closest wins. these are some of the games i have played at baby showers. hope i helped good luck.

I'm ging to have a mixed Baby Shower, there are fun things that you can do. You can still have Bingo, and there is this diaper thing that my family won't do, they think it's gross, I find it funny. You can melt snickers bars or any kind of chocolate bars, and put them into a diaper. Guests have to sniff and guess what chocolate bar it is. If you're not into it, that's fine. I would just make sure there are a lot of games. Like, Price is right, and guess what kind of baby food it is with similar colors. Guys can get into it too. Baby diaper 1 guest at a table, and everyone has to choose who is dressed the best.

Have they guys participate in games too. Then when the women want to talk about mommy things the guys can go out on the porch smoking cigars talking about daddy things. I would just do finger foods and the cake of course.

i ended up having a really cool coed shower. we had a cookout which it sounds like you cant have but we got the guys involved in some cool games. like most of the guys there liked to drink so we put yagerbombs in baby bottles and had them chug from the bottles nipples and whoever got it first won a prize. we ended up having a really good time. guys like food, beer, music maybe, darts. competition guys like competition. so if there are any baby games you could get them in on where they have to compete with one another that woulld be cool.

i like the front conceal poem...completely suitable. the interior wording, i might take out the appearance area because of the fact she hasn't arrived yet...this is greater of an announcement than somewhat one bathe invite fact. putting in the place you're registered is acceptable because of the fact the full factor is to get stuff and characteristic a sturdy time, it relatively is not egocentric/grasping in any respect. Kudos on the beer and BBQ...I had that planned for my hubby's "guy" celebration, and had my own separate female celebration. yet for co-ed, i think of installation a delightful diaper changing opposition could be exciting (on dolls of direction, and to make it greater exciting, locate some pureed toddler nutrition that appears like poo on your diapers as a marvel). Congrats on your being pregnant!!

guys don't like those kind of things. just let them do thier own thing. most guys will naturally migrate outside and talk amongst themselves. dont make them get involved with the little games. that will riun the night for everyone usually.good luck and have fun

make lots of food, guys don't talk much when they have food in their mouths lol. We had guys at my baby shower but they kind of migrated towards the food table and went into another room to talk while we were ooing and ahhing over baby booties.
