My engagement ring is priceless, I have no clue what he paid for it, but him going and picking a ring for me to wear every day for the rest of my life, that is priceless.

Well given the fact that a man is supposed to spend three months of his salary on a ring, and my husband owns his own business I would have to say too damn much, although I wouldn't sell it for anything. It is gorgeous and made just for me. Why would you care what a rings worth, it's all in the thought behind it...

Ladies, do not kid yourselves. You may have paid X thousands for it. It may have appraised for 5x what you paid.

If you went to a jeweler today and asked how much CASH (not store credit) he would give you for your ring you would be shocked to find out how much less it really is worth.

Diamonds are not rare and they are a emotional gift not a valuable investment.

Wow, there are alot of shallow people in the world. I bet every girls husband who brageed about how expensive her ring was is out sleeping around and they'll probably be divorced in about 6 months.

As for all of you ladies with tact, congrats, the fact that your husband picked it out for you is priceless. I wish you wonderful happy marriages.

As for me, I know my ring probably cost alot, but if it didn't, I wouldn't give a damn. I love and cherish it because my husband picked it out for me and put it on my finger on our wedding day... That's VALUE.

I just sold mine at a jewlers who buys back gold & gems. He gave me 1/2 its' true value. You could always make a pendant with it like a solitaire on a delicate chain!

We paid just under $400 for it, don't know how much it's "worth". Not a diamond - blue topaz.
