Helmets are heavy....ballet and figure skating both require a lot of balance....helmets would throw us off. In other sports there are objects like a ball or a puck that could hit you in the head and hurt you, but not in ballet nor figure skating. The only thing required for these sports/arts are the people and the right shoes. It's hard to fall doing ballet...its hard to balance on your toes sometimes but its really easy to catch yourself, and even if you do fall....the chances are REALLY slim you'll hit your head. Same with skating, usually you fall in a sitting position, on your stomach, or on your back. In football and other rough sports people are clashing into you and tackling you....helmets are important. But in ballet and figure skating they might only save a couple injuries. Not to mention skirts and helmets....don't exactly pull off the best fashion statement.

Shortage problems. The supply chain is already overstreched with all these helmets for skiers, hockey players and lacrosse players.
I placed orders for helmets for figure skaters back in May, but still haven't heard from the Chinese. Their factories are working four shifts a day, 7 days a week, but they still can't make enough.
I hope I'll receive them by Dec. 24th.

through fact the linked fee skaters have a intense threat of falling with the angles that their blades are at. The ice skaters and parent skaters are at intense speeds, yet are at a very low threat of falling and getting a head injury. as an occasion, whilst Apalo Ohno replaced into interior the qualifying rounds for the gold medal (against the two canadians and south korea) he replaced into virtually in touch in 2 injuries. it somewhat is plenty extra significant for velocity skaters to placed on helmets than parent skaters.

im am a figure skater, and i hope this answers your question!!!
i have rarely fallen and hit my head either on the ice or the boards. usually only pair skaters have major collisoins that can cause a major fall. I personally know a few younger girls who wear them because they skate with higher level people. it would be rediculous to wear a helmet and would be extremely obstructive to many moves! i hope this helps

Isn't it obvious? It would take away from the elegance!
