I think that this war will prove to be just as costly or perhaps even moreso then Vietnam. It's very sad to think that the USA really believes that it has the right to go into a foreign country and try and set a mandate for them to live by. Iraq and the Muslim religion have been around a lot longer than the good ole US of A. And the fact that they would enter into this territory and try and set a new mandate and mindset on it's people is very disturbing. As far as who's responsible for the failure Bush or Rumsfled I do not truly know. They just went in thinking that the Iraqis would bend over and kiss their butts for trying to bring change to their culture, wrong again.

Iraq is not a failure. It is a country in turmoil & it has been in that turmoil for a very long time, as has the entire Middle East. Our failure as the "Western Countries" is ignore the looming threat. Now that the Soviet atheists have been thrown out of power over the Muslims in Chechnya, Khyrgistan and the rest, the Jihadists are aiming to take back Europe, and more than they had originally. They consider the US and Canada and Central and South Americans countries to be European.
There are many people who voice their disapproval of Christians, but wait 'til they get to meet Fundamentalist Muslims who don't threaten you with Hell in the hereafter, they say, "convert or die". That is what we will all be up against and it has already started.
Iraq is not a failure. It's not about oil or why did the proces go up so much? Why is the supply less? Iraq and Afghanistan have Iran between them. That is why it has strategic importance for us.
Our government needs to support Iraq until it gets it's own government securely in place.
Afghanistan is the same way.

Well the point was never a failure or success. Bush needed the road cleared both in Afghanistan & Iraq & he achieved it in this cruel & sickening manner.
The question is If it is right for trying Saddam for writing out death sentence for some hundreds who tried to kill him, then who is going to try Bush for writing death sentence of millions in Afghanistan & Iraq for one organisation that attacked US of A.

You're right. The blame ultimately lies with Bush. But it'll be a cold day in you know where before he would resign.
