Looking for inspiration? If you are, that's a dumb idea. The complexities of a con job are packaged in a movie to fit into a screenwriter's plot as a device to propel the story. It's entertainment, so movie goers can safely live vicariously through the exploits onscreen. The reality is much more complicated, involving years of skill, talent, expertise and the kind of cojones you cannot possibly squeeze into a screenplay. But I do have some favorite movies, like "The Usual Suspects," "The Sting," "The Grifters" and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels."

I agree The HOuse of Games is a great movie-- not really new and a bit of a sleeper, but really good.
